Challenges against the Orthodox Church: infiltrating heresy and witchcraft

The following is a layman discussion about the major current problems of infiltrating heretical teachings and of divination practices that have been tirelessly attempting to creep into our Churches.

A theological perspective on the current events around a number of well-known Orthodox Churches:

The recent decay in our faith and faith-based works is evident (and I am the first among the sinners). The fruits of our loss of good works for the Lord have come forth; infiltrated heretical points of theology and witchcraft activities causing unprecedented levels of spiritual harm and leading souls away from the love of God. Whether it is for money, for attention, or due to deception, many people have practiced activities foreign of Orthodox Christianity whilst claiming they are part of the One Church. Just as viral microbes have recently shown record levels of direct and indirect self-camouflage whilst infecting host cells, so is it with the current levels of deception from the father of all lies. Lie cannot directly come into one’s sense area, but always camouflage itself into forms of perceived good, given that it is only good that can directly come into such an area and communicate about facts.

There can be no communion between God and the devil, as the devil chose to become separated from the Life-Bearing Truth. The difference between Angels and humans is that angels had a full spectrum of discernment and choice between good and evil, whilst humans do not usually experience such a privilege. As a result, the devil in his pride is trying to bring all humans with him because he knows humans will be greater than the Angels in Heaven. He probably knew about God’s plan of mankind’s salvation and he created distorted religions and forms of spirituality to confuse and divide people, and above all, to lead people away from the Truth. He invented religions and forms of spirituality that contain elements extracted from Orthodox Christianity because of two reasons; bad cannot fully detach itself from good and the devil knows that Orthodox Christianity is the relationship with the Maker of all things visible and invisible.

Heresy represents the most grave miss-of-mark and witchcraft also leads many souls to spiritual death. As a sinful brother in Christ, I encourage my fellow believers to read the Scriptures and the writings of our Church Fathers before trusting anyone coming to you in the Church. Do not trust anyone coming to you to give you “prophecies”, “healing prayers” or “alms for the departed” if the Priest did not bless their acts, even if they say otherwise. These are workers of darkness, deceived in their pride, thinking God allows anything in His name. If one needs prayer, forgiveness of sins and/or healing, then please talk to a Priest about it, who will guide you in the path of repentance and pray for your forgiveness of sins and healing from disease, and guide you, in the right timing, to receive the Body and Blood of Christ. When you confess your wrongdoings to a Priest, you confess them directly to Christ, as the Members of the Clergy were given powers that Angels had not been.

Heresy led astray the souls of many honest believers and witchcraft harmed and killed many Christians who sincerely seeked Christ, and many of such believers were sadly in premature stages of the Faith. We can only mourn, let go of the soul-crushing bitter emotion, witness the Truth to our fellow believers in Christ without fear or wavering, and fervently pray to God without cease and for mercy.
